We live so close to the new house that we find ourselves over there almost every day, sometimes more than once! This process is just so exciting and it's so fun to go over and see something new happening! They have our foundation all poured and the dirt is back-filled. I think next they pour the concrete floors and then start framing! We are so excited!!

Halloween
A few days before Halloween we had our Ward trunk-or-treat. The kids loved it! Above is a picture of Tavvin with his cute neighbor friend Dani.
The night before Halloween we had a party with all the Webbs over at Chris and Stacey's house. The decorations Stacey set up were over-the-top amazing and she had some fun games planned for us all too!
On Halloween night we took Tav trick-or-treating with Carter, Trey, Jaid, and Callie (well, and Lo too, but she spent most the time in the stroller with Callie).
We had an awesome October of Fall festivities and that final week of Halloween was the cherry on top!

Breaking Ground!
Oakwood has finally broken ground on our house!!! I don't think I've told the story of or house hunt on here yet so here it goes...
We started looking at houses casually in December of 2014. Sometime a few months later we were getting a better grasp on how much we could buy and we started looking harder. It seemed like there was nothing on the market that had the things we were looking for. We walked through a few homes but didn't love them.
In late winter sometime we found a house we really loved and put an offer on it. They didn't take it so we countered even higher, we wanted it bad! They seemed like they were going to accept, but instead suddenly told us they decided to take their house off the market. We were so bummed!
We kept looking for awhile, but finally decided we probably weren't going to find what we really wanted because we are too darn picky! So we decided to build. So then we started driving around and checking out different builders. We walked through a model by Oakwood homes and loved it so much we almost made an offer above and beyond our budget. We changed our minds in the end because the home was right next to a really busy street.
We eventually decided to build with Oakwood. That is a complicated story where we wanted to build in their community west of the freeway but with a plan they only used in their community east of the freeway (but why???). We finally talked them into building a plan we liked at their west community (Monument Park) called the Copenhagen. We had a meeting and signed papers for that and made an offer. Awhile later they came back and said never mind they wouldn't build that plan (again, but why???).
Another little while later they came back and said, but we have a very similar plan that we will build over there (hooray!) but then we discovered that they would not build the living room with the loft that opens to below (but why???). We moved forward on it anyway, feeling a bit bummed out. And then a little while later they said never mind the open to below is now standard for this plan! (Hooray! But also, what the?)
So finally we picked a lot, we had a great layout (The Hayden) and we started moving forward! This was sometime in like July or August? We went to all our meetings and laboriously picked out all our finishings and now about a whole month after finishing that, we have a hole in the ground!
Fewf! And also, woohoo!!
We can't wait to have our new house finished! They predict it to take about 4 months, but as we have all seen, their track record for follow through is bad. So fingers, toes, and nose hairs crossed we will have a finished house in early March!
The big 30
Shad's birthday was October 22 and I surprised him with a little getaway to Park City! In hindsight I think I should have also planned him a surprise party to take this birthday over the top, but you win some and you lose some! We had an amazing two days off of parenting though! We pretty much shopped, relaxed, and ate out for two straight days, it was great! Shad finally got to do some shopping for himself (he always takes too long when the kids come then ends up buying nothing because they are too busy and in the way!)
It was such a nice little break and we came back to the babes feeling refreshed! Shad is such an amazing husband and father and we all love and adore him so much. I hope he had a good birthday because he certainly deserves it :).
Fall Festivities
I love Fall so much! It's so fun with kids too because there are so many fun things to do! We got as much fun out of this October as possible and I loved it! Here's pictures...

Tavvin Turns 3!
We officially have a big boy in our house! Tavvin turned 3 on September 29 and it was so fun watching him be so excited for his birthday! He understood what was happening this year to some degree and that made it so fun. We had a party for him with all his little friends at the park on his birthday and he loved it! He talked about it for weeks before it happened and then after it happened he kept saying "my birthday party is coming up!" Haha. He woke up the morning of his birthday and had mom and dad all to himself for present opening while Harlow slept in a little. His reaction to his presents and decorations was so fun to watch! He saw it all then looked back at me like, Is this for reals and all for me! Ha.
We love you so very much Tavvin and are loving watching you grow. You are so smart, sweet, energetic, fun and funny. You love you family and we love you. You are a daddy's boy to the core and he loves you dearly. We are excited to continue to see you grow!
