Baby Blanket
I snagged a TON of cute girly fabric from my Grandma Squires stash a few weeks ago and have been working on some fun projects. I already posted my car seat cover ( I may make a second option and choose my favorite) but I used the same idea and made a super cute and really soft girly baby blanket. The picture is atrocious, but I have to document because I was so happy with how it turned out!
FHE
I've been trying really hard to have family home evening regularly these past few months (as I'm typing this I'm realizing it's Monday night and we totally missed it-one of those days!). I feel like Tavvin is finally getting old enough to understand it and I think it's important to start when the kids are young and stay consistent.
A few weeks ago we went all-out and took Tav to the dinosaur museum and to get ice cream (I had just gotten a Thanksgiving Point pass). It was fun to do something together as a family. Tavvin was still a little too young to really enjoy the museum, but he had fun running all around and saying "Woa!" when he saw something he thought was cool.
Most of our FHE's have been a prayer, (Tav has learned the words 'prayer' and 'amen' and how to fold his arms... For a few seconds) a song, and a very short and very simple lesson. But I feel an assurance that doing it is right and good and I am going to try very hard to keep it going for... Ever!

Carseat Cover
I stocked up on fabric from my Granda Squires to make some fun baby girl things. The first thing I made was a car seat cover. I think it turned out pretty cute :).
"Babymoon"
Shad and I decided to take a "baby moon" and go on a Caribbean cruise. We booked it sort if last minute because I found out late that cruise lines won't let you sail if you're over 24 weeks pregnant.
We sailed off Fort Lauterdale, Florida and stopped at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. It was sunny and beautiful. It was fun to step out of being a mom for a week and just relax and read in the sunshine during the day and get dolled up for nice dinner every night.
A Tavvin Post
Just wanted to post some photos of Tavvin recently.
Bubble machine at Grams house:
Our turn for babysitting one night. Jaid and Tavvin were fighting for my lap.:
Shad and Tavvin playing during General Conference April 2014:
I've been trying to teach Tavvin his sunglasses are cool to get him ready for summer. He likes them sometimes:
Tav in great grandma and grandpa Squires front yard. We visit every so often and it is always wonderful. Tavvin loves them both:Tavvin likes to play on the playground behind our house and I like that it's so close to us. We've had a few warm days:
Tavvin likes to scrape box elder bugs off the outside of my parents house with a stick. He's recently fascinated with bugs:
I was packing for vacation and Tav wouldn't climb out of my suit case. It made me so sad, I just wanted to take him with!:
Tav loves when I get him a chocolate donut at the grocery store:At the playground again:
Tavvin talks more and more everyday. He has such a fun playful personality and is full of energy. He is totally a daddy's boy. I mean obsessed with Shad. He bawls every morning when he goes to work. He brings so much joy into my life and I love him so much. Baby Girl
We found out that baby #2 is a GIRL!!! I didn't think I cared that much, but it turns out that I am super excited! When the ultrasound tech was doing our 20 week check and was determining gender, I just kept thinking: where are his parts?? Haha. Turns out "he" didn't have any! Anyway, I couldn't stop smiling! I'm just such a girly girl it will be so fun for me to buy some frilly things and decorate with pink.
I don't want to suggest that I would have been sad to have another boy!! I love Tavvin more than I thought was humanly possible to love anyone and I will love all my children regardless of their gender or anything else!
Anyway. I am filled with emotions in anticipation for this sweet girl to arrive. I'm terrified to go through labor (and recovery) again. And although I have done it once, I still feel like I have no idea what to expect. I just hope and pray it won't be as traumatizing as my experience with Tav was. I'm also terrified when I remember the intense struggle those first few months were with no sleep getting used to having a new tiny person to care for while dealing with post-partom emotions. I'm hoping now after having been through it once it will be a little easier and less stressful. I also can't seem to actually believe that I'm having a baby again. It all still feels really surreal and probably will until she gets here.
I feel so blessed to be allowed the experience of being a mother. It is so humbling every day to know I've been allowe this great responsibility. I love it and I love my Tavvin as I know I will love this girl as well.
We haven't set anything in stone yet but we think we will name her Harlow Ruby.
St. Patrick's Day
For St. Patrick's Day we had a little FHE with Shad's family. Stacey made us all a very delicious green brinner and she and Haven had such a cute table all set up for the party. After we ate, Chris "Bampa" helped the kids collect all the hidden Leprachauns to find the burrows treasure.
Tavvin had no idea what was going on, but he enjoyed brinner and the hidden treasure (chocolate "gold").
It was fun. I'm lucky to have in-laws who keep up such fun traditions.
